MY DEAREST APPEAL LETTER.

Dear Sir/Madam:

Re: Appeal for the change of course

I am Ang Sook Yen, S9-------- , a freshman in Singapore Polytechnic, Diploma in Interior Design(DID).
I know that changing course is not any easy decision, but after several serious discussion with my parents. My parents and I came to a decision that I should change my course to Architecture. As my dad is from this line, he understand the module of this course very well. And he would also prefer me to take up this course and assist him in the future. This would bring much more efficiency to my dad's renovation company in the future as well. I chose Interior design in the first place, I really thought that with a interior design dipolma, its good enough to assist my dad in the future. But it's not, infect Architecture would be a better choice for renovation line.

I came to this conclusion that Architecture is better when i was given the talk on the first day of orientation whereby all the lecturers have introduced their modules and how it would be like 3 years down the road. And none of them was what i think it was, therefore my family memebers and i made this decision to have a switch of course.Looking at the modules in Architecture like Critical Reasoning Skills, i'm sure it'll be able to help me to tackle the needs of the customers from my dad's company.

Knowing the difference between the two courses, I really find that Architecture would be a better course of me academically. After the lectures in the design school explained the long module ahead, alot of art and crafts are involve. I have to admit that i do not have the enduring passion for art. Therefore, again I really wish to switch course and its not only for what my parents felt.

I would not wish to carry on and continue my 3 years doing something that know I won’t be able to achieve therefore, I would like to have a course transfer to Diploma In Architecture.
Most importantly, I have met the entry requirement and the approximate cut off point for the course. I have achieved a result of 17 points as my raw and a deduction of 2 points as a scored a A1 for my CCA.

Therefore, my L1R4 after the deduction is 15 points. To summarize my O level results, I managed to scored four B3s, in Elementary Maths, English, Combined Humanities and Combined Science,C5 for Chinese and lastly, C6 for Art.
In conclusion, I feel that a course in Architecture is the best change of choice for me. With my willingness to learn ad pick up, I am certain I will do my best in this course if I am given a choice to study it. I sincerely hope you will understand the importance of these change for me, I do not want to regret after one year or two. Instead, I want to make things right before it's all too late. Im a NA student, I'm already one year behind time. Therefore, i really dont to waste my efforts in DID and can't apply to use in the future. So I really wish that you will be able to accept my appeal.
